Community input: Pick a markup language
Avo and I have been working on a revised version of storm. We are trying to fix a great number of problems especially with some of the layout of the site. (The boxes to type these polls in are way too small.)
Anyway, months ago we discussed changing the markup language that Storm-Artists uses. Recently I've narrowed the choices to the following four: keep the current BBCode, use plain html, use Textile with html, or use Markdown with html.
[url=http://www.storm-artists.net/info/tags/]BBCode[/url]
Used because it's really easy to program and somewhat familar.
[url=http://htmldog.com/reference/htmltags/html/]HTML[/url]
Offered as an option because most people are familar with html
(Note: Full html wouldn't be allowed for a number of reasons, the allowed tags for journals would likely include: b, i, u, a, img, strike, strong, em, abbr, pre, blockquote, code, p, div without the option for styling)
[url=http://hobix.com/textile/quick.html]Textile[/url]
A markup language used on very commonly on blogs and some wiki programs. It supports inline CSS styling of elements but it a little more complex than the other options.
(Note: HTML would still be available.)
[url=http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax]Markdown[/url]
Also used on blogs and is very popular for use in comments because of it's simple and limited syntax. (It is very easy to remove malicious code from Markdown formated text)
(Note: HTML would still be available.)
Any questions, suggestions, or discussion is welcomed. (as long as it's on topic :wink:)

New Reference, what do you think?
So I posted a new reference for my scifi species.
The new reference isn't completed but I'm looking to see if I improved it.

(Vote 1) The new one is much better
(Vote 2) The new one sucks... the old one was better.
(Vote 3) I have a suggestion (please comment)
